Maxwell Putnam, B.A.H., J.D.
Barrister & Solicitor | Notary Public
I’m Maxwell Putnam, the face behind Limestone Law and Limestone Notary.
Since joining the legal profession as a licensed lawyer in 2017, I have worked for community-minded law firms with a focus on helping regular Canadians and small businesses succeed with their legal needs. In 2021, after five years of practice under experienced mentors, I took the leap as an entrepreneur and started my own practice.
I have experience in a wide variety of areas including civil litigation (employment law, debt collection, personal injury, construction litigation), family law, real estate transactions, wills & estates, and corporate-commercial matters. I have appeared before multiple courts, administrative tribunals, and arbitration/mediation adjudicators.
I started Limestone Law with some fresh ideas on how to make legal services more accessible, affordable, and convenient for the average Canadian. I aim to be a strong and effective advocate for my clients, and to promote access to justice in my community.
Outside of my legal career I am an avid reader, fancy myself a history buff, and enjoy playing a variety of sports (with varying degrees of success!). I was a varsity club track & field athlete for Queen’s University.
Something about me that may surprise people - I grew up in Hong Kong, China, and spent over a decade living in Asia.
